AIRBOX &

SCHOOLS

At AirBox, we care about your indoor air quality. This is especially true when it comes to students and school faculty members. As with all important health risks, indoor air quality (IAQ) must be addressed in a proactive manner. It is important to implement an effective plan to mitigate short term and long term health effects for everyone in schools and indoors. If providing Safe Breathing Air for your students, faculty, and staff is of critical importance to you, only an air purifier designed, built and certified to US Government Standards should be considered.

HOW DO I ACHIEVE HIGH QUALITY INDOOR AIR IN MY SCHOOL?

CORONAVIRUS & INDOOR AIR QUALITY QUOTES FROM

"School Closures reduce expected student learning gains which can have lifelong consequences and exacerbate educational and economic inefficiencies."

"Portable air cleaners with certified HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) may be useful to reduce exposures to airborne droplets and aerosols emitted from infectious individuals in buildings."

"A helpful rule of thumb is that for every 250 square feet of space, a CADR (clean air delivery rate) of 100 CFM is desirable."

"Air Filtration in school building can help mitigate long-range airborne viral transmission by removing SARS-CoV-2 from any air that is recirculated through the building."

WHAT THE EXPERTS ARE SAYING ABOUT IAQ & CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION

INCREASE INDOOR AIR FILTRATION

Increase air filtration to as high as possible without significantly diminishing design airflow within HVAC system.

INCREASING OUTDOOR AIR VENTILATION

Increase outdoor air ventilation, using caution in highly polluted areas. Opening windows or using fans as effective replacements.

USE HEPA ESPECIALLY IN HIGH RISK AREAS

Using portable high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air filtration to help enhance air cleaning, especially in higher risk areas such as the nurse’s office and special education classrooms.

UTILIZE EFFICIENT & COST-EFFECTIVE PORTABLE HEPA FILTRATION

Portable certified HEPA air purifiers are the most efficient and cost effective solution to mitigate the risk of airborne pathogens.

ASHRAE

(American Society for Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers)

WHAT THE EXPERTS ARE SAYING ABOUT IAQ & CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION

HEPA FILTERS SLOW THE SPREAD

ASHRAE suggests introducing HEPA air filtration to slow the spread of COVID-19 in classrooms.

USE A MULTI-LAYERED APPROACH INVOLVING ADEQUATE AIR FILTRATION

Social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands is just the first of a multi-layer approach to keeping schools safe. It is the position of ASHRAE that “the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 through the air is sufficiently likely” and suggests that “changes to building operations, including the operating of HVAC systems, can reduce airborne exposures.”

UPGRADE HVAC FILTERS WHEREVER POSSIBLE

Every facility will have its own unique set of challenges to overcome based on systems and equipment. As a baseline, ASHRAE suggests replacing filters to MERV 13 or higher wherever possible and to introduce portable HEPA filtration units if that is not an option

DID YOU

KNOW

On Average, We take 20,700 breaths of indoor air in a day

As Americans, on average we fill our lungs with air around 23,000 times in 24 hours & spend over 90% of our time indoors.
